Report by Nick Clayton, thank you Nick
Once again the yacht racing
was held in light winds – this is becoming really frustrating, especially
when other Sundays during the month have much more wind...
Round 4 was the first round
in which there were three classes competing. The newly formed ‘Class C’ got
to race each other without being ‘blown’ away by the Seawinds. It should be
noted that the banter has come back between the ‘Class C’ competitors, which
is brilliant.
Round 4 was also the first
round where an elected skipper (I believe it was a very democratic process
in which someone was well and truly ‘stitched up’) from each of the classes
has a say on how their class race is run. The outcome of this was that the
‘Class A’ yachts would only do 4 laps compared to the 5 laps the classes
were doing.
On the
24th May – AMBO held one of their championship rounds at the
Mote. They must be the luckiest skippers around because they had the best
wind of the year so far. Thanks to all those who helped out on the day –
lovely sunshine. It was even suggested that someone brings down a barge,
just to see if we can get any better wind...
Anyway, here are the latest
points after Round 4.
