Cygnet's 50th Birthday Celebration - Type 23 Frigate Build (HMS Kent) - Build Gallery- 5

This is the fifth page that provides pictures of the Cygnets Model Boat Club build progress of HMS Kent.

The following pictures have bee provided by Peter Clayton who has been working on the hanger section towards the rear of the ship, the lift rafts have only been strategically placed and not glued down yet.  (2nd February 2009)
The masking tape has been removed and although it gave a line it has been necessary to finish by hand, another couple of coats of black, some touching up on the grey and she will nearly be finished, well I will be finished and can get back to looking at the forward gun turret.  This weekend Trevor Bright came over to measure up for the boats stand, everything seems to be coming together nicely.

John Adams provided the pictures below of the superstructure, Dave Shirley and Peter Clayton met up with their parts laid out on the bench in Mote Park, it won't be long now before all the part will come together at Mote Park for the trials. (8th February 2009)
A further 5 hours have been spent finishing touching up the black water line and refreshing the grey at the top of the hull.  Trevor Bright has confirmed that he has finished the display stand and is now working on the temporary stand to enable the build to be finished. Alan Noble came around to measure up the hatches and survey the area for the control box, the control box will hold all the radio gear, electronics and batteries, as necessary.
    .
Below left is a picture of the components that will be used within the control box that Alan Noble is building, and the next few pictures show the control box coming together
To the left you can see the battery and two speed controllers
The control box will hold the speed controllers, the 2.6Ghz receiver and a 27Mhz receiver, the 2.6 will be used for controlling the speed controllers and rudders and the 27Mhz will be used for controlling the forward gun.(15th February 2009)
A nice touch to the lid of the control box shown on the right
Today the two sections of the hull moved from my house freeing up my conservatory, much to the delight of my wife and children and on to John Adams's where work will now commence on the deck and fitting of the superstructure.  Peter helped transport the hull and we both got a peek into John's workshop.
To the right you will notice the wires poking up for the lights, these will be operational subject to time.
Pictures above and below show the extensive work John has done on the Bridge section, I detected a little rivalry going on between Peter and John as to the amount of detail each can add to there section.  (21st February 2009)

The following photograph has been provided by John Adam, I loved the accompanying text I decided to share it with you; "photo taken today of Peters thingybejig as mounted on the top of my Bridge Unit! ( hate to say it, but a superb job! )" (11th March 2009)
