As the year is fast approaching work
has continued up to and through the festive activities, Ray
Milliken has completed the running gear that has now been fitted
into the hull and the last of the fibre glass strengthening has
been applied, the pictures below (apologies for the quality, had
to use the camera on the mobile phone) working from transom to
bow show the quantity of fibre glass used to provide strength to
the shafts and the 'A' frames as they break through the hull
structure. Another coat of resin was applied to the whole
of the inside of the transom half to provide additional
strength, the forward half will be done on the 31st
December 2009. |

 |
For those of you that are interested
we have laid about a kg of fibre and resin to this half alone. |

Below a picture of the transom end, on
end, enabling you to see the running gear on the underside of
the hull. Additional pictures taken showing the build up
of fibre glass where the shafts and small 'A' frames break
through the hull. The last picture is a nice shot of the
electric motors mounted at he end of the shafts. (29th

John Adams who has been working on the
bridge has described it as being a "sod" has kindly sent in the
following photographs showing his work to date. The final
should be spectacular if this is the standard of work at this
interim stage, we look forward to seeing more photographs from
John as he progresses. (30th

On a very cold Saturday morning, so
cold that garden hose was frozen and needed a defrost before we
could commence filling the pool. This is the second water
test the two halves of the hull have had, but this time they
were ballasted to ensure that we could keep both sections
submerged for an hour or so. We can report that except for
a small amount of water that came through the jointing bolts
that no water entered either half. A 100Kg of pea shingle
were used to ballast the hull . (3rd January 2009) |
 |
 |
To the left you can see the transom
half fully ballasted and Peter Clayton and Brian Dengate on
looking. To the right both halves in the paddling pool and to
the far right the neighbours cat, tinker, decided to come and
investigate. |

The pictures
below are from Richard Gardner and have been taken part way
through the build of the deck structure to hold the Sea
Wolfe High Speed Vertically launched missile system.
At this early
stage there is very little detail added yet but the front
bulkhead supports are all in place.
