Igtham Mote - Fathers Day Display -  2009 - Gallery

The beautiful surrounds of Igtham Mote in Kent was the setting for the Cygnets Model Boat Club's first public outing with HMS Kent, and what a day.  The National Trust made us feel extremely welcome and a big thank you to all the Cygnets members that turned out to support the day.

From the time Ightam Mote opened up a steady crowd of people filed passed our display. Several of us managed to put our boats on the lake in front of our display, one member managed to be the first on the water, but almost as quick managed to park his daughters boat in the reeds, okay it was me.

To the right Trevor stopping for a bite to eat, then a short kip.

To the left Peter concentrating on trying to avoid the reeds.

HMS Kent was a big speaking point through out the days, and she really did the Club proud, below are some photographs that were taken just before the gates opened, for the rest of the day there were just to many people around her which made taking photographs very difficult.

HMS Kent didn't sail today as the lake would have been a bit tight to manage a turn, so she stayed on her display stand, but this allowed everyone to get up close and personal.

Above is a selection of some of the members boats that were on display, photographs by Paul and Hannah Dengate.
